There are four main tartan weavers within the UK. “Lochcarron“, “House of Edgar“, “Marton Mills“ and “ Strathmore“ each can use slightly different shades of dyes to represent the same colour. Tartan cloth is mostly woven in either, heavy weight 16oz./ medium weight 13oz./ light weight 9-10oz. but you can get them even lighter. Please Note:- The listed tartan images will give you a very good idea of what a particular tartan will look like, but because of the nature of computer screens it is advisable to examine the cloth itself to give a true idea of the colour
